Well thanks to all who replied back in February.Problem:Dull clunking noise coming from the front end of '91 AcuraIntegra LS - 5 spd... ***but*** only at a very particular drivingcircumstance of coasting to the bottom of one particular steephill in 1st gear, then making a very sharp right onto an upwardhill and shifting into second after making the turn. Somwhere inthe turn and shifting the clunk would occur but not every time.Sounded like some kind of suspension or mount etc problem.Well the car stranded the driver immediately following the finalclunk which was a particularly louder and bigger clunkier clunk(as i was told).Car runs fine, the engine cranks easily , no obvious noises,clutch feels the same, transmission shifts or feels like it isshifting and when you look under the car everything seems tolook normal (that is nothing is hanging or drooping or fallenout )....The only diagnostic of any note is that when you press clutch andshift into higher 4th/5th gears and release the clutch you hear abuzzy/whiny noise that increases it's buzzy/pitch with therevving of the engine but at lower gears the noise is almostin-perceptible.So anyone care to have a guess at the problem ? Would driving in trees be considered "severe" conditions for maint?

Common happening in my part of the world. Two mebbe three years, replacement time...I did get 4 years out of the boots on my wife's Chrysler T&C but that was after I convinced her to back into the garage at night and the same at her workplace. Eliminates the need for a sharp turn right after she started moving. That seemed to help. I did the same with my 86 Civic and got about 4 years, also. Of course, I was monitoring the boots condition closely so I didn't have a joint failure.
