adjusting windshield wiper park position

1993 Jaguar XJ6, single center mounted windshield wiper

How does one adjust the park position of the wiper? Is it really just undo the nut, reset to desired position, and you're (more or less) done?

Went through an automatic car wash and at the other end the wiper had moved from its park position on the passenger (right) side to straight up the middle. Hmmm. Turned on the wiper and after a couple of swipes it settled down happily in full coverage. But now they're parking on the driver (left) side.

Bill, you need to remove the wiper motor cover located on the left side of the firewall and rotate the gear so that it makes contact on the switch in the proper position. But, before you do that, you need to remove the right side knee bolster. There will be a wire that goes across from left to right with a red fuse in the middle. Chances are this fuse blew at some point. usually this fuse controls the return to the park position but not what the park position is. In other words, this line keeps constant power to the motor so that the wiper will always park in the same position as set by the gear switch when the wiper is turned off on the steering wheel console
