The X300 refers to the 1995-1997 XJ6 X308 refers to the XJ8 from 1998 - 2002/2003 The X350 refers to the 4.2 litre XJ8 from 2003/2004 until current.
The XJR 4.2 litre was introduced in 2002 and put into the US market in 2004. See
