the 8-cyl (X308) XJR's came in late-97. a '95 car is a supercharged 6-cyl car (X300 series) @ 320bhp. XJR's prior to '94 (of the XJ40-series) are non-supercharged.

The 94-97 XJR is a lovely car - probably the pinnicale of the long line of

6-cyl XJ's - the 8-cyl probably feels much more athletic but you'll pay at least 1.5 times as much as an equivelent condition/mileage XJR-8 (in the UK anyway).

1995 and 1996 are inline 6 supercharged putting out around 322 HP ( US) 1997 to present are twin supercharged V8 putting out 370 HP ( US).

The 95 and 96 cars are a superb bargain, possibly the best buy in the used luxury supercar market out there. There are some nice interior color combinations, darker vs lighter wood. The only common problems seem to be manifold issues with cracking on the 95s and earlier 96s. Otherwise its a very reliable and robust engine.

You can get an early V8 for reasonable money with not too many miles, again a great bargain. The 98 and 99 can be had for under $30K US.

Good luck,

Thanks,

The 1995 offer seem to be a good deal. I will take it. Save some more money for the V8. Probably next year...
