Do you mean how far the bumper extends in front of the tire? If so, measured from the front of the tire or the center?

Thank you Howard your data is useful for me even if I'd prefer more precision (up to centimeter, or half inch). Nevertheless if you have got this length measuring an XK8 manually I won't ask you to lean the car against a wall and take a more accurate measure. I don't want you to scratch the bonnet ;)

Unfortunately I read these news letters mid to late evening and forget the next day so the measurement was taken in the garage. Even against a wall two measurements one on either side would be better to compensate for out of squareness against the wall. I took it over the UK number plate which possibly extends a couple of centimeters or so beyond the body. An interesting measurement which may prove useful if you want to build end stops to run into before hitting a boundary wall.
