1965 Jeep Again, Q&A

Group members, I stand before yee with Q&A on this prize project.

Year; 1965 (Maybe) Model; Truck Body; 100% solid, 95% straight Interior; Excuse me, why is there nothing inside, oh, the rats and dogs took care of it back in 87, then the big blizzard of 89 caught me with the winders down! Whatcha asking again? Well if'n ya give me 3hunerd and take it away I'll give ya the papers. Ya haveta give me 5hunerd to trailer haul it fer ya down to town! Why won't it drive, well, there be a missing piece at the steering box, oh, there ain't no steering box! Other than that it's okay. Ya see that dar power cord, that keeps the battery, oil, and engine ok during this time of year. I stopped asking questions then.

Ok, the fender badges from top to bottom. Jeep V-8 327 J-3000

Glass, all there. Interior is truly non-existant. Only the tailgate has body damage. Front bumper is straight, rear bumper has seen better days. Bed interior, could not observe, full of snow. Wheels and such, large funny size, 16.5 either 8 or 10 lug, looked almost like 9.50 16.5 military style. Could not observe frame, or running gear due to snow. Could not drive due to gear box. Failed to find key ( imagine that), did not listen to motor.

Out here this rig is a rarity due to it's Jeep badge. I have not done any research on getting it fixed, or what motor etc. Old rigs are very popular here, but command a hefty wallet. I'm also looking at a 58 Willys Jeep truck, was parked back sometime around 90, as is just under 4K.

What do you experts think. I cut my teeth on a Kaiser and Willys CJ2A Post WWII, then 63 Jeepster, and resigned my new 86 last CJ-7 back in 00, and have driven other stuff since. I'm looking for a beater, something that will run the snow, and the hard trails up to the Steelhead runs and back without any worry. Any idea on this 327 motor. Chevy or Jeep? Running gear? What should I be looking for on this rig? I will go back after the thaw, and hopefully be able to fulfill my own questions.
