2000 Jeep cherokee battery issues

Jan 25, 2010 1 Replies

I recently noticed that the battery charge gauge was showing no charge on the battery. I tested the battery and found it to be bad so I replaced it. Car starts without a problem every time and I have no other symptoms but the gauge is now reading low at start up and then goes to zero after about 10 minutes. Any ideas? Bad gauge? Thanks

Voltage gauge? I wasn't aware the XJ had a charge (amperage) gauge.

Everything on that model is a function of the car computer, but the XJ also had a problem with a bad dashboard connector. Read a ways down on this forum
