I'm stumped on this one. I have a fresh rebuilt 4.0 that just started leaking oil after 3000 miles. It shows up on the underside of the exhaust manifold. When cold you don't notice, but as soon as it heats up, it smokes from under the hood. Really gets your attention!.
The right side is dry and clean. What could possibly be leaking on the left side?

As Bill says, check the valve cover. I'd be tempted to remove the air box and have a direct look at the side after a run.
It could even be (remote, but possible) that the leak is at the front of your oil pan or timing chain cover/seal and being blown back by the fan.
