93 YJ transmission mount

Weird question here.

93 YJ I6 auto Looking at the transmission skid/ support plate lying on your back with your head towards the front of the vehicle. There are 2 nuts that are attached to the actual bracket that is connected to the bottom of the transmission. To the right of these two nuts is a threaded rod (with a nut on the bottom and top of it) that goes through the skid plate and up into a rubber piece which, if you squint and use your imagination, kinda looks like a 'kong' dog chew toy, there are also some spacers / washers on this assembly.

This threaded rod and 'kong' assembly is loose - should it be tight? What is it's function?

Not for sure, but on the ZJ there is a post on the transmission mount that supports the exhaust system.

That is an outrigger bar to limit engine twist when under torque. It should have two cone washers over/under the bar that allow almost an inch of free movement up and down.

Thanks all for the advice on this unusual question,,,, or perhaps the question wasn't as unusual as the 'way' it was asked. Turns out (obviously) that wasn't my problem...... problem was a sudden vibration in drive train. It was the u-joint on the rear differential/ drive shaft - really strange that it was an 'all of a sudden' thing. One of the 'shafts' under a bearing cap had a catastrophic failure - nearly half gone. :-/

thanks again paul
