A little help with CJ-5 top hardware?

My `79 CJ-5 resurrection is almost done, now I'm working on the soft top. I kept all the OEM hardware (door frames, windshield channel, windshield weather seal, top bows, door frame), have a nice, spiffy new Replace-A-Top for it, but what I don't have is a drilling guide for holes.

What I really need is the location for the top bow frame, say as a distance from the rear of the tub (from the lip where the snaps attach) to the front of the bracket, and then on to the big hole for the door frame.

Anyone out there with a `76 through `83 CJ-and a tape measure?

I'm tempted to just lay the top bows on the tub and line the folded front bow up with the rear of the tub, but I suspect that that won't give me the right fit. The snap holes I'll just work backward from the top with a bit of chalk (on the snaps) and some masking tape (on the tub for the chalk to stick to).

Thanks.'

That's a very kind offer, Bill. Here's what I've got:

=091979 CJ-5 with brand new tub =09Brand new Bestop Replace A Top =09OEM-style hardware-- =09=091 one-piece non-collapsing top bow (the forward one) =09=091 collapsing top bow (the rear one) =09=09"L" shaped brackets for the top bows =09=09Solid galvanized door frame pieces with black plastic =09=09inserts. (two top, two rear) =09=09OEM galvanized toor frames with rotating latches (not =09=09the newer paddle style) =09=09A bag full of snaps =09A garage that isn't really warm enough for the top to flatten out and stretch. I'm thinking of draping the top in place on the jeep and blowing a space heater into the cab until it warms up enough to stretch to fit. =09The only thing Bestop provides is the check distance from windshield frame to rear of tub. If you come up empty I suppose that I could call them and weazle some sort of instructions out of them.

Thanks again for the offer.
