Brown/red alternator wire???

After reading the posts on the brown /red connection. If they were reversed, what is the consequences? Just wondering? I've been there before and I played the wire lottery. Maybe I won.

If reversed the engine won't shut off.

The alternator powers up the coil and ignition box through the brown wire rather than the brown wire feeding the alternator excite signal.
