Cat-Back systems

Dan DeHaas did pass the time by typing:

All depends. I run the Gibson cat-back, aluminized version. Didn't go with stainless since the muffler just hits rocks anyway.

I've got a wave of what it sounds like with the 4.0 on my site.

From what I've seen they are all fairly much alike.

Need some info. Have an exhaust leak. Want to replace with a cat back system. Was wondering if one is better than the rest? (Banks or borla) All opinions welcome.

You kind of get what you pay for, but I'm cheap. I put a Dynomax cat-back on a Camaro a few years ago. Sounds great, not too loud, affordable.

I went with Borla about three years ago and am very pleased with it. I have no experience with any others. The Borla was easy to install and uses nice, flat, exhaust clamps.

I went with the Banks Stinger system for my 97 Sahara about a month ago and absolutely love it. I had a huge leak between my exhaust manifold and the pipe headed down to the catalytic converter and a muffler that was shot. Since I replaced the leaking donut gasket and bolted up the Banks system, I've seen a very real increase in power. Much quicker and harder acceleration. It may just be a seat of the pants sensation, but regardless, I love it. Would highly recommend the Banks system for ease of install, quality of the stainless steel construction and the exhaust sound. You can't go wrong with it in my opinion.
