It's probably missing... fouled plug, or otherwise bad cap, rotor, secondary wire. Do a tuneup... save the plugs in the order they came out, so you know which went where... hell, your Haynes has a decent chapter on this.

If it *still* misses, then look at injectors... pull the injector wires one at a time until you find the one that doesn't change the idle... there you go. __ Steve .

How is the clutch on the fan?

Is the serpentine belt wearing ok? If it is getting any wear on one edge, suspect the harmonic balancer.

Hi, All

It helps to know what was going on when this happened !! Did you just walk out one morning and it started missing? Was it just tuned up ? ect......

It could be a number of things. What accured ?

Inspect your plugs and cap. The way to do this without wrestling plug wires is to wait until night ,fire the engine up and raise the hood. look for arcing (fire jumping). make sure to check for cracks in the spark plug insulators.

If it looks good you may have a vacumm leak , take steps to make sure. Hose could have came off the breather ,carberator ect..
