Front driveshaft length

Feb 23, 2010 2 Replies

When it's up on a lift, and the front suspension is off the ground, the front driveshaft compresses to the point where it bottoms out and starts pressing against the transfercase.

I don't recall if this happened before I added the lift, but it now has a 4.5" lift with replacement lower control arms (non adjustable, with a slight bend to them (Rough Country brand).

Is this normal, or should I do something to limit the downward travel?

TIA

Steve

Talk to the people who sold you the lift kit.

----------------- I'm just curious Steve, which lift did you get? Their new long arm? X series? Did you put them on upside down?

After my lift we had to modify my (factory) TC skid so the front shaft would clear.
