I agree, even if they've been rebalanced. Swapping a known good set with OEM rims temporarily makes sense.

Gents, in the original post to this thread and in others he has stated he borrowed another set of tires and had the same trouble.

Good call, Mike. Yes, he did, and I didn't catch it.

Another idea I've used in the past for some really troublesome vibration problems in the past: pilot car. Have a buddy drive alongside while the vibration is present; have him spot both sides to see if anything visual will give the culprit away. A shimmying wheel, axle or steering componant can often be seen this way.

I once used this to spot a loose spare tire on a 4-runner; symptoms were a shudder and 'thump' noise when accellerating/decellerating somewhere in the back. Apparantly, a thief took all but one lug nut off and didn't finish the job for some reason, but slipped the cover back on just for laughs.

Justin, call that guy who is on the radio and diagnoses cars, Jeff Brooks is his name and I think its the radiostar something network. That man is GOD for car repair... and let me know my 93 cherokee has the same shimmy at 50 mph when turning right

Didn't you work at Midas at some point? I'm pretty sure you were the guy who refused to do an alignment on a car I once owned because I installed a spring/strut package that lowered it by 1/2", claiming that it changes everything, and that it wasn't possible to align anything after that.
