Heated electric seats - 98 XJ

Hello group & thanks in advance for any information-

The local Craig's List has an XJ the same year as mine that's being parted-out. I am planning to take the heated leather seats, their switches, and any wiring that's accessible.

My questions are, is there a relay in the wiring, to make the heat function operable? If so, will it be near the switches - or buried somewhere under the dash?

I will take as much of the wiring that I can trace, but I am anticipating that the individual wires for the seats will become lost in a bundle, somewhere under the console or in the dash. I am hoping that my current car is partially pre-wired in the loom that runs to the console, and I may get lucky and find some plug-ins there. If that's the case, will the rest of the stock wiring for the seats be complete to the fuse block - or, again, do I need to locate a relay?

Thanks for any help.

PERHAPS ANSWERING MY OWN QUESTION -

I visited the NAXJA site and found what I believe is good some information. If I read it correctly, there needs to be a 25A fuse in #29. There is a connector wire that runs from the switch block (?), under tha pass. seat, and plugs into a connector that's located above the rocker panel, near the front of the seat. Presumably, this then runs to the fuse block.

If any of this is counter to what anyone else has experienced, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

This is where the full service book comes in handy. However, go visit your local Jeep dealer and ask nicly to be able to browse the schematics for the heated seat.

That's about as close as I can get.

Thanks for helping, again, Doug. The parts guy at the dealership is a good guy & always offers advice - and then he'll sometimes steer me to NAPA for "like kind" parts. He likes Jeeps.

I probably should start a new thread, or attach this to my earlier inquiry, but...

BTW- A few weeks ago I had a gas tank that had a loose seal at the top. It was a matter of lowering the tank, swapping the rubber seal, and re-tightening the threaded plastic piece. Not only did the leaking stop, and the fumes go away, but that "gurgling" sound when the tank is full also went away. Thanks for you suggestions for that problem, too. js
