Lovin it

For the last week my Jeep has been in my garage while I put in my lift. I've been working on it nightly as time permits. The problem was...I missed driving my Jeep. I have a very nice mustang, but I didn't want to drive it any longer, I wanted my Jeep. Is this wrong? To love a vehicle so much? It's fun, it's different, it's almost all I think about (what I can do with it next). I took it to a mud hole today on at lunch to 'break in' the new lift and say 'welcome back'. I must be insane!

It's not wrong and your not insane. If so then we are all that way! I already have three vehicles (including my CJ, excluding my Wife's Astro) and I want a TJ so bad I can't stand it!

Hehe...thats funny, I saw a 86 CJ7 for sale around here a few weeks ago and started thinking about selling my mustang to get it. It was gone before I thought too much about it though.

Your not any more insane that the rest of us. I have a "big" truck and I miss my Jeep when gone...

Get some mud on it. :-) Sell the rustang and use the $ for the Jeep. Dedicate yourself to the project. *puff puff pant pant*

I did...see next to last line above. It felt sooooo good.

Belive me, I've considered it...except for another (additional) jeep.

I see that's what you've done. Nice work and web site.

Currently you must be number *1* travis! I applaud your enthusiasm. When I built mine, I think I dropped 10 grand in a matter of 6 months. Spent every waking moment under my CJ. As your site says, "Who's yo daddy!?!?"

I'm gonna dedicate the whole weekend coming up to working on my electrical problems. My hands are still noticeably swollen up and cut from working so much on my Jeep since I got it. I'm "loving it" as the saying goes, but need a break from all of the work I've put into it. OK, so maybe I'll also change out the diff/xfer case/tranny fluids, but other than that I'm gonna just enjoy it some after fixing the charging system. But maybe the body lift I just got wouldn't take all *that* long to put on... And.... and... and... ;-) Nah, I need to relax a little. In the meantime, you could spend the entire weekend checking out the stuff I did with/to my old VW here...

I'm not trying to "plug" the site. It's just that it took meabout two years to put that together and I really think that there maybe some content on there that maybe some of y'all will enjoy. I hopeso, anyway. Take care, and I'll see y'all on the trails. I'll be theone covered in mud with the big grin. :-D

And your point??

Get used to it.

I was 6 months Jeepless after my roll...killed me to drive the car. Kills me to drive it to work right now too, but...the alignment is so shot on the Jeep after last weekend it would be stupid to be driving it any more than I have to. I _always_ miss my Jeep when I dont have it, or even when I am riding with someone else. The hotrods and show cars are fun, but....the Jeep is funner!!!!!

It's not so sick as you say. The guys who founded Durango and Silverton had to make do with pack animals and a train...

LOL...Actually, I'm doing pretty good. She likes driving the TJ much better than the mustang, especially with the top off, I can hardly get it away from her.

LOL! Yup, I had to get a second Jeep for my wife if I ever wanted to drive my CJ7.

Funny same thing happened to me... My Mustang is being neglected (overdue for an oil change and the coolant flush kit I bought is just sitting around, needs new tires...) I took the jeep out the other day and went the long way home (backroads) sans roll bar and with dead inspection... Just felt like driving it after working on it for the past month or so.

my decisions. :-) >

Hey, take my advice, just buy it & bring it home. She'll be so mad at you the only place for you will be either in the Jeep, or in the garage. "So, what's the problem?" In our Jeep club I'm fairly sure there are numerous Jeeps the wives are unaware of, kinda long term loaners!
