That sucks. I have motorcycle camped while passing thru there a few times. I always have a .45 in my bag at nite, but may not be able to use it in a bear attack. I may be riding to Alaska this summer thru the same area yet again.

To balance that sad story out, on the lighter side,

Yeah, they allocated the money but couldn't decide where in the building to put the four defibrillators they budgeted for. So rather than order the units and temporarily store them in a closet they just didn't bother to order them.

But then..... since it was a shyster.... err... attorney that died no one really cares...

I'll bet his wife and kids care.... (I think I hope you know I think that you were teasing)

Amazing how stupid the system can be eh! Like you said, if they had at least bought them and placed them ANYWHERE they guymay have stood a chance.

I checked with a buddy who works over in Wake Co. He said the guy turned purple, shoulders up almost immediately. Indicates a massive MI. Defibrillators probably wouldn't have helped him.

But "you never know". That is why there is a push to put defibrillators everywhere, and all emergency personnel have to learn CPR. I suspect that if a true cost-benefit analysis were done, people would say "forget it" to both defibrillators and CPR training, but how can you value a human life?
