I didn't have any problems when I put the shackle lift on a couple of years ago. When I went to replace the shocks this time I sheared the heads off every single upper mount bolt. I took it too a shop, as I had a nasty experience getting sheared bolts out. The guy drilled them out and put helicoils in. The new shocks are mounted with stock-sized bolts. I drove it to the shop, slowly, without the rear shocks in it. It was two hours labor from the time he got it until it was in the parking lot with my new shocks in it.

Hey Carl, I missed this post somehow... I am using exhaust manifold studs in mine, it was handy and it's still working. Eventually I will be using bar pin eliminators and better hardware. How are you making out?

Been very busy with work and studying, haven't a chance to get much work done. Not to mention my vice broke, and I need a vice to get the bushings into the shocks. I got the steering stabilizer in without issue, much more solid now on the road! Hope to get everything else installed this weekend.

Those must be some honking bushings. I just stand on them or squeeze with a pair of channel locks.

They are just standard size shock bushings. Does it matter that they are poly? I spent about 10 minutes per bushing with a hammer smackin' em in.
