Re: Motorcraft 4350 carb

Starting issues after sitting are 'usually' one of two things.

Either the gas filter is in upside down or there is a pinhole leak in the gas line on the suction side of the fuel pump.

The gas filter has two outlets, the center outlet goes to the carb and the top outlet goes to the return line. If the return line isn't at the top, then gas can syphon back to the tank when it sits making it a bugger to get going.

A pinhole leak does the same. It can be small enough that the suction won't let gas leak, but it will let air in when off. It just leaves a small stain on the gas line.
