Re: Which axle is better?

it is Chry 8 1/4, thought the 3/4 does exist, not sure what it used in though

the Chry 8 1/4 is better than the Dana35, but not as good as a Dana 44. 96 and older 8 1/4s have 27 axle splines, 97 and newer have 29 (stronger). Some 96's have 29.

Here is some info I have collected, ordered by relitive strength all measurement are in inches

Which axle is better? The Chrysler 8 1/4" or 8 3/4", (I forget which one it is) > or the Dana 35?

8 3/4 came in "A" body dodge, chry, plymouth cars, some trucks. Has 8 3/4 dia ring gear, better than 8 1/4. Doesnt use C clips. 9" ford is better and more parts available
