The Corbeau Ultra SS in a wide is not bad at all. One of the local stores had one on display. However, I am planning on going with PRP seats instead. Probably the Competition Pro Series in a wide.

Well, when I get mine in I sure will. I know exactly what you mean. Had that on a Jeep I recently went to sit in to check out the seats. I hope to get all the work done on the rig in July, so I will be ordering stuff next week with that in mind. The Atlas will take 5-6 weeks to get, and I am not sure of the time lag on the seats, its a couple of weeks at least I think since they are custom built.

I think the key point here is the "racing style" rather than racing. Racing bucket seats are very light and are not designed for lasting very long (they have minimal padding because you don't do that many miles in them and it adds weight).

If you don't mind paying the money, something from Recaro is usually pretty good quality (they make seats for sportier european models, and a lot of stuff for the aircraft industry).

Yes, and most of the 'racing' seats are made for people of smaller stature.

Also check out Corbeau who has some jeep specific models. And definitely spend the bucks for a local shop who can mock them up for you as noted.

They fit me nice, and the guy who did the install is a big boy and he also finds them very comfortable. They are not cheap, but, they sure are nice. I am interested too. My CJ7 seats are pretty worn out and are busted. I don't fit 'most' car seats and really don't fit TJ seats....

The ones I got are the Competition Pro Seats.

I got the two inches wider. I also went with the option to get the seat cushion three inches shorter (front to back). In addition I had them leave the piping off and double stitch them instead. (all this adds to the price) They are very comfortable, well padded, and dont pinch in the hips at all. My lean and lanky next door neighbor came over and sat in them a bit ago and really liked them alot. The guy at the shop is probably 6 or 6'2, about 250-275, and broad in the shoulders and hips and he fits in them nicely and really likes them also. They do NOT recline. I did get the slider setups so that they can be moved front to back, since the guys at that shop cant even get in the Jeep where I keep the seat set. LOL.

They did have some troubles getting them in the TJ (these are mounted to the cage, not to the floor), I lost my center console, and they had to finagel with the Atlas some too, otherwise you couldnt get to the shifters with the seat up as close as I needed it. Also, they were unable to run a bar diaganolly across the door since the seats are wide and even with just the soft doors there isnt room. It was a squeeze to get them in, however it looks good and will work fine. I will have to mount a skinny ammo can or something instead of a center console. I lost my cup holders too

- they had to take them out to make the rest fit, but that wasnt really because of the seats.

For me, since I am short, its a little bit of a squeeze between the edge of the seat and the steering wheel. If I were taller it would be no problem. However I am just glad that I am going to be able to keep the stock steering wheel on. Oh yea, and I also go the seat covers, which are vinyal and pull down over the cloth part of the seat to protect it from the weather. I will probably use those a lot - keep the local cats out of my seats when the top is off.

Thanks, I need a big and tall version with the ability to fit a short person too. I am 6'4", 210 and my wife is 5'2". I need to find local suppliers so we can try them on at that kind of price.
