will an 86 cj7 hardtop fit on the back of a nissan frontier truck?

Question

thinking about buying a hard top and wanted to know if it'stransportable using a normal pickup truck.  thanks for any advice!

A CJ-7 hard top is about 5' wide and 6.5' long... now you tell us. Worse case you could flip it over, and have one top edge down in the bed assuming you are not going far.

I did that very thing with my 03 Nissan Frontier longbed. I drove it from Dallas to Oklahoma City without problems. Used tiedown straps, blankets and rope.serg wrote:

I wish I'd taken a picture. It was actually a TJ top, but the fit in the bed would be the same effect. I did NOT have it upside down.I tried every which-way, but the position I settled on was with the top right side up, with the front overhang pointed over the driver's side bed rail. Now, the overhang of the top seemed to stick out too far and I didn't want an issue with the DPS, so I propped the back edge up on top of the passenger side bedrail, which pointed the front overhang down and shortened it. It rode perfectly in there with proper tiedowns. I used blankets to keep the straps from rubbing the paint off the top (it was in brand new condition).serg wrote:

I have a CJ7 hardtop on the side of my house I wish someone would steal!Heck, for $150 extra I'll toss in the rust free full steel  doors.....
