2001 Kia Optima SE V6

I have a 2001 Kia Optima SE V6 model. When I am driving typically at 25mph or more I get a grinding noise from the passanger side. I have had the brakes replaced and the rotors ground and new tires put on the car but still have the noise. The noise almost runs you out of the car at freeway speeds and is getting louder. The company that changes my oil said something about possibly a bearing going out? Any Suggestions or ideas on how much this might cost? Thanks

Oooh, that does not sound good. Yes, it could be a wheel bearing, though I submit that by now it would have gotten much more serious.

Another possibility is something in one of the drive half-shafts, possibly a joint.

Half-shafts run around $200-300, plus alignment, etc. Wheel bearings usually must include replacement of an entire hub, which usually is closer to $400.

Hope this helps.
