Kia Sorento: happy owners?

Hi,

I'm considering a Kia Sorento. Are there any Sorento owners on this NG who would recommend or not recommend a Sorento. What do you love/hate about them? How reliable are they?

Thanks in advance,

-kk

Love it and would buy it again. The only problem in close to 14000 miles is the clock doesn't keep good time. We haven't had the urge to have it back to the dealer for just the clock, and nothing else has even given us even the most remote problem to take it back.

I like the fact that it came loaded for the price, plus since it is built on a true truck frame with live rear axle, it was the only mid-sized SUV in it's price range that had anywhere near a decent towing capacity. Even the

2wd version came with skid plates, not that we need them of course.

At 6000 miles (second oil change) we switched to Mobil-1 synthetic motor oil and it doesn't burn a drop between changes. Our only gripe is that it only gets around 20mpg in combined city/highway driving, which we obviously wish was slightly better.

I would highly recommend the Sorento.

Cheers - Jonathan

Mine does not keep great time also.

I also use Mobil one great choice. Our only gripe is that it only

Sometime I get 13 in town but I only have 2K on it.

We have had a Sorento for 8 months and have no problems. Service is great. It is our second KIA. We had a Sportage 1998 until we traded. The only reason for the trade was the Sportage was straight drive and I was having knee problems.

I have just seen your comments and taking this opportunity i want to reply to the sender that it is a perfect car being now on almost 7000km and to ask the readers if the have notice following ! As the dealer office of kia advise me that there is not any need to do anything before the

15000km i change the oil on 3500km!

The question is the following: First of all i want to clarify that the dealer office advise me that it is actually nothing the following and there is not any need to do anything about this !

I am hearing since the first 1000km's and i want to ask if everyone else hearing a not very high but small noise comming up from the axle of rear weels when the car is moving and from the range of 1000rpm up to 1850 rpm ? As advised from the dealer of kia it is actually nothing but all of a sudden a few more buyers keep listening to that noise which is actually as understood from the dealer a counter balance weight missing from the axle and have to wait these to come from korea to europe that am located ?

As far as the others IT IS A VERY GOOD CAR and the consumption that i count is aprox. 0,09 euro in the city and much more less in long distances.
