Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket kit to replace the "dowel" piece that the removable shelf sits on, it was a clean break ? Mine snapped off, due to extreme cold just a few days ago. The dealer wants $ 200, to replace the entire interior panel of the trunk, which this is part of. And they claim it is not a warranty item, even if the car is less than 2 yrs old.

I'm not familiar with the Rio 5 part you refer to, however, if the car has less than 50,000 miles on it the part should be covered under warranty. I would call Kia to confirm this. If it is covered ask them to straighten out the dealer. Regards, Bob
