110 Door striker

On the front Passenger side door the sriker is constantly undoing it's self. Been like this since I got it. Two scews go in to a captive plate within the B pillar. I guess Nige or a Previous keeper had similar problems as the scews are new. I've tightened it good and propper even with an impact drive (hammer type) but still undo's it's self over time.

Is this a regular problem as a lad at work has the same problem on his 110 Hard top.

suggestions re any soloutions welcome.

Studlock? Or, if there's room, a couple of shakeproof washers.

It may have been overtightened or overstressed, which would deform the thread in the captive plate.

Been back out and had a peek. The scews despite being relatively new are now chewed up it's been ongoing for a while!

I've just bunged in two bolts with 10mm heads on for now.

What I did notice that one of the main problems seemed to be the plastic spacer slipping off the shims. I've now turned this around as one side has a hollow the other has a flat face. The flat face is now against the shims and the hollow side opening against the actual striker. This seems more logical. The bolts have tightened up nicely for now. I'll see how it goes I think I may have rumbled the problem but I'll give it a month or so just to be sure then I'll get new screws and restore to a proper finish. Fingers crossed!
