Mine usually cruises at 50-55mpg although I have had it up to 60 once or twice. The steering gets very vague at those sort of speeds though and I wouldn't be too confident of the brakes stopping me in an emergency.
Cheers Gary
I wouldn't be confident of the brakes stopping the car in an emergency full stop - not fast enough anyway.
Hey, that is fantastic fuel economy............................................................ ;-)

Brakes?? -What brakes?
Exactly what I said. Its really noticeable when you have driven the series
3 for a few weeks, then drive the Discovery or the RR. It takes some getting use to the fact that you haven't got to brake half a mile down the road and the gears are so different in comparison. I ended up going from 2nd to 5th as the Series gears are so much further apart.in article snipped-for-privacy@4ax.com, Austin Shackles at snipped-for-privacy@ddol-las.fsnet.co.uk wrote on 7/12/03 11:26:
