Backlash in diff

Has anyone any feel for permitted backlash in a 101 diff? The front diff on mine will twist 5/8" on 1.5" radius, which seems rather a lot and won't help the infamous rumble problem Thanks

Sounds alot Steve... I'd buy another locker....

when do I get my tenner? What do you mean Lizzy reads the group too...ah.

;-)

Seriously though given how far the Disco and Rangie's too and fro on the handbrake I'd not worry overly until summat goes twang.

Summats going BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ worse than usual. I have a horrible feeling its something expensive. If the diff needs stripping, I'm changing the prop shaft as well.

You haven't just fitted my old fan belt have you ;-)

Have you bunged new tyres on or did I imagine that?

I had the feeling that Morph sounded more in the transmission area once I'd taken the caravan off... though that could actually have been the oh so slight difference of the props that actually shut them up due to the minor difference in suspension height.

oh ... I get it.... Yes I'd definately swap the prop and the Diff.... and fit mud pluggers and an Auto box and a 4.6 and air con along with a fan belt just to be on the safe side ;-)

Tyre pressures?

No, I'd recognise my belt's squeak anywhere.

yes, 285/75 R16

Theoretically Bob's props are now at a fractionally lower angle - hasn't helped though :-(

35 all round.#
