Crimping eyes into SWR.

Aug 28, 2003 1 Replies

Does anybody know of a company in the south Somerset area which would put some hard eyes into some SWR for me, or even what to look for in the Yellow Pages to find somebody.? I don't want to use clamps for the job.

Thanks .

SWR? If you mean steel wire or hawser, any chandlers can usually swage loops and eyes ("thimbles"). The copper variety (used with s/s wire) used to be known as Talurit splices - trade name, I think. Poole or Bristol are probably nearest. Otherwise possibly an agricultural supplier or maybe even a fencing contractor.
