Disco Aircon

Aug 10, 2003 5 Replies

Hello all,

Just a quick question - I have an "R" reg Disco fitted with aircon. Due to the recent heatwave, I've been running the aircon all the time.

However, I noticed today that a misty vapour has been coming out of one of the vents, and the passenger footwell vent is leaking what appears to be water. Is this a normal consequence of running the aircon continuously with the current weather?

The aircon is still operating so far as its cooling the air satisfactorily.

I'm just curious as to whether I should be concerned!

BTW, I'm in the UK (presuming this is an internationally read group)

Many thanks for any advice,

Richard.

This sounds like blocked aircon drains. If you Google this group, you'll find the answer.

Most probably resulting from the A/C working hard to absorb so much heat and humidity. It would be a good thing to check and maybe clean the hoses that lead the water out of the passengers' cabin heat exchange unit.

Take care Pantelis

satisfactorily.

I agree with the above...and the misy vapour mine did that too...when it worked.... :-\

Hi Graham,

Many thanks for the help! I'll give the valves a clear and see how I get on.

I bet you get to use your aircon a fair amount in Zimbabwe....!

Cheers,

Richard.
