Air Con failure?

Hi this may be a complete newb question but is an odourless greyish vapour coming into the car via the air vents temporarily after the aircon has been running but has then been switched off a sign of a fault? Or just water vapour happening to condense out? I have had to top up the engine water coolant system recently so I wasn't sure if it was possible for a pinhole leak from there to be ending up being taken up by the ventalation system. Thanks for any advice T reg Astra

the water should condense and run out of a drain pipe though the floorpan (you should see it dripping out underneath)when the A/C is running - this is normal. if there is a leek in the A/C system, then by this time next week it wont work, or if it still works by this time next week then theres no leeks and its normal operation.

It is normal for some condensation to appear after switching the aircon off. It's just the remaining moisture on the aircon evaporater, evaporting off.

If it was engine coolant, it would be anything but odourless.

Yup. Particular when it's humid. The airco has been on so the car is nice and cold... then suddenly you switch the airco off and blow in air that's NOT been conditioned. The water vap condenses out into fog.

If it persists/occurs then when the car is warm then it could be something else.
