Well, good and bad really. They managed to lose a V5 that I sent off for registering a vehicle before Xmas, and when I phoned up about it last week, they told me I had to use a V62 to get a new V5. Fine, until I see that you have to pay £19 for this, so I duly sent the form and money away, along with a SORN declaration for it.
Get 2 letters back from DVLA this week. One yesterday is my cheque returned saying that the fee comes in duuring March, and as the form is being processed before then I don't have to pay! Letter was dated Friday last week.
Letter this morning is the SORN dec returned. "As you are not currently the registered owner of the vehicle, you cannot make a SORN dec. If you are the owner, please obtain V62 from the Post Office to request a new V5. Please note that a fee is payable" Letter dated yesterday.....
Obviously, the V5 has not yet been sorted out, and I have to wait for the new V5 to come back before I can make a SORN dec...... Don't you just love the DVLA!
