Anyone with a rusty chassis or contemplating some chassis repairs should definately view the shazzymann site.
Lots of pics on chassis repair.

Excellent article on the Defender. Lots of ideas there to replace screws and bolts before they cause corrosion.
I hope to be replacing my 1997 D90 as some stage in the near future but will be looking for a nice clean 1998 model. Don't like what I am hearing about the Td5's.
Another negative thing about the 1997 (and later models) is the obvious thinness of the aluminium body panelling. This vehicle was previously used by a gamekeeper and it seems to have been dented by every twig that touched it. Every time he rested his rifle on the bonnet to shoot a fox he pressed the wings in with his body and elbows and left the marks of the rifle bipod on the bonnet! The 200Tdi was much a much more robust creature.

So then a general decline in standards, just as well I shall be sticking to my series 3. As for dents, they add charachter :)
