Missing Oil. anyone help

HelloMy mate has a series 3 landy.V-Good recon engine etc 12 months ago.Does not burn oil and has no leaks (no drips on is nice white flagged drive)5 weeks ago checked oil and was just over the MAX mark.Last week crank / con rod threw its hand in and on checking the oil it wasempty.Thinks he has lost 6.5 litres in the 5 weeks.
