Hi Guys
Been watching the news the last day or two with all the flood waters down in wales and what not and seeing that my landy is being stripped to chassie and bulkhead and running gear I thought oh what the hell lets go mad and set it up for off road.
The one thing I wasnt going to change was the engine and box as its the 6cyl but I can see this being a problem in a couple of areas economy speed and water.
So its going to be a disel I need somthing with a fair amount of poke nothing stupid but a decent average speed would be nice as its going to be spending its time on race circuits and rally venues so a bit of speed would be nice. An also a disel will be better when in the wet stuff more than the petrol will be.
I am going to be putting lots of under body protection in were I can but would you guys have any recomendations on what is a definit thing to do at the moment im looking at the following as main things to do.
Steering Guard ~ Sump Guard ~ Diff Guards ~ Hi Lift Shackles
I am also thinking of a wading kit for the axels is this something that is really needed as you can tell im not that familer with off road stuff but I want to be able to have a play and dont mind getting wet.
Im off to the land rover show in May and got the works transit to fill with bits and in the process of making a shopping list im hoping to have it down to the chassie before I go so I know what I need to buy as a priority and what I can leave till later.
So come on guys and gals what would you put on it while I think on its a 109 that will be carrying a fair amount of kit on board as well as a crane on the rear hence the hi lift shackles.
With that go nuts im not looking to build the ultimate off roader just something that can handle a bit more than a dirt track as it will be spending its time in forests and like I say want to have a play off road too.

ps why I think one can you get a winch bumper for a s3 109 and whats a decent price for a decent second hand one. I dont want to scrimp but dont want to get stung.
