Just picked up a really nice Disco 300tdi, it has a bit of a sticky gearchange between 1st and 2nd and can crunch a bit when changing quickly though.
ISTR all the 300's I've had do this but this one seems a little more pronounced. I knocked the seller down a bit as a result and can live with it as the car is only an off-road toy really. However, if I want to sort it am I looking at a re-con box or is there a known fix?
First off, make sure it's got the right oil in matey, at the right level.
Ashcrofts recommend MTF94 whatever that is, although I thought it was good practice to use ATF instead?
I would change it as a start anyway.
