Range Rover 4.4 Vogue

I'll agree with that synopsis.

Well, having owned both (which personally I feel gives me the right to comment) the 300c is no more barge-like than a disco or rangie and can probably corner quicker due to its lower c of g. I can't say I've noticed any excessive body roll, but then I don't push it hard in corners. If I wanted to do that I'd buy a Lotus Elise!! But lets face it, you wouldn't buy a 300c to go off road in the first place, would you? That'd be like buying a mini to do long-distance touring!

What a load of bollocks! Have you got a weird shaped body that likes to be in wooden church pews or something? How can you say that a leather armchair is less comfy than a vaguely padded soapbox??

In the same way that I feel a Series landy is s**te then - uncomfy, slow, poor brakes, what suspension, in fact a bloody hazard on todays roads. But then that is the beauty of this place - we are all entitled to an opinion. Each to his own though. It's a helluva lot of car for the money, is comfy, has more road presence than a footballer's rangie sport (park each in a car park and see what one gets the attention), is more economical than any rangie or disco (like for like, so don't bother telling me a disiesel disco is more economical than a 5.7 Hemi petrol) and has superior performance too.

No but I did drive the '93 Scorpio and it seems my suspicions were correct. It would not put me off one as my cars aren't all about comfy a to b or I'd drive a nissan micra. That would be sad. My Granny was probably one of the best £800 I ever spent, looked like it was a Pimps sunday car but as long as I felt good driving it nowt else really matters.

I still feel like a chaufer driving the RRIII rather than the owner and Mrs_D has taken to sitting in the back (to look after Baby_D) , I'm sure I spied her working on her royal wave the other day :-)

Equally though I can look around the wider 4x4 scene and see some modified pride and joys that make me cringe despite being very capable at what they do. Definate 10 out of 10 on the cheese-ometer.

Not a problem, if we all liked exactly the same motors then wouldn't life be dull.

Maybe it's round here then .. only ever see the diseasel el-cheapo ones. As an aside, as my mate works for Daimler-Chrysler, the crossfire is also built on a merc design .. but can anyone guess what ;-) No prizes 'cos it is rather easy ;)

Heh and the Dodge Viper .. what a car - pity it would never work in the UK - what with us having corners and stuff ;-)

As far as the L322 goes (IMHO) .. it is the best screwed together LR to date. Very solid, and oddly easy to work on at the same time - BMW obviously had some input there ;-)

P.S. Never seen the V8 Hemi 300 for sale here tho .... is it a special order?

Er..and I have actually driven some - and also seen them in a stripped down state (Chryslers that is...). Of course my FAVOURITE vehicle we have seen at the training centre had to be the Merc Actross (the tourer....and yes I do mean the tractor unit!) - which the wife wants as a "runaround" !!!!

Yep, the base CRD doesn't have the satnav etc.

You have to admit though, it's far superior to the old Camaro's, Firebirds etc - at least it makes an attempt to turn!

Must have been a rogue one I worked on then........

Nope, UK spec model. Now dropped due to it being a slow seller though, along with the 3.5 V6 petrol version. Still some ex- DCUK cars around to be had though. Your current new choice is 3.0 CRD or 6.1 SRT-8, in both saloon and touring, their logic being that if you are determined enough to go for a V8 then you'll most likely go for the balls-out version! SRT-8 doesn't have the MDS system that makes the 5.7 Hemi so economical though......

Cool........ dunno about parking or mpg though, heh. Badger

Also the threat of ever increasing Road Tax. Must look up the LPG rules again.

Don't take too long over it - Alistair and Gordon will ensure that any advantage won't be there for long!

On or around Thu, 7 Feb 2008 19:02:26 -0000, "Badger" enlightened us thusly:

I still fancy a JCB fastrac with a pickup body on the back. Wheelclamp that, yerbastards.

And it's probably too heavy for the thing that picks 'em up and takes 'em to the pound :-)
