revolver spring modificatons

well i wa going to let you all into my little discovery aabout 9 inch travel on series standard springs, but i cant bring myself to spill the beans, cos youll all get em, and ill never win at the trials again.

so i might let you know if you realy want to,

Chris Perfect made up some 3/4-elliptics (except that they were parabolics) for the front of his trialler once, and got silly amounts of travel.

however, he then modified it again to take coils from a 90.

these are by a company called TERAFLEX in the usa.

specificaly for jeeps, but when i get my paws on a set, they`ll be for my landy.

You can get them closer to home than that... and made for Landies... although even there own web site recommends use for off road only.

even so... Chris's mod was eminently simple. all you needed was a spare pair of front springs and a spare front spring shackle, and some extra-long U bolts. I can't right now remember which way round it was, but the effect was that one end of the spring wasn't linked to the chassis directly but was attached to slightly more than half a spring which was in turn bolted under the chassis at it's other end.
