Stupidity.......

Bit of rant, I'm affraid - well, I've had a few days off.....Comming round the M60 last night, motoring along nicely, very lighttraffic and all's going well. Then we come up behind one of the non-Police Police look-a-like things. In the middle lane, doing 30,flashing a sign "Do not pass - Incident". Lord knows what the "incident" was (they just turned their pretty lights off after a bit), but next time they do something so bloody stupid theyshould have a look in their mirror - there were two or threenear misses behind them as every one got totally confused - hadthe road been as busy as normal, then they really would have hadand "incident" or ten to play with. I don't know what powers orauthority these clowns have, but they seem to have been recruitedfrom the "I've got a Jeep and a beacon and I'm going to use it"brigade - maybe they are sponsored by a recovery company.Anyway, I was dubious about their introduction a couple of yearsback, and now I'm convinced. Let the blokes who really know whatto do sort things out - the Police and the road gangs.That's better :-)Richard

Very true. I'd use blues and reds, but I must confess I don't know what's on the light bars of the Highways agency vehicles, as they (and the the ones on the VERY similar Police Traffic vehicles) are white/clear when unlit.
