TD5 ECU upgrade

Sep 29, 2005 1 Replies

I have recently bought a 2004 Discovery TD5 auto, and have been reading various articles where people had mentioned chipping the ECU. There seem to be 3 main options, Autologic, Superchips, and Jeremy Fearn. Has anyone had experience of these? I am doing mainly road driving, and occasional field or track driving (nothing technical or challenging) and occasionally towing up to 2500kgs, which is where I notice the gearbox hunting for gears a little bit, hence the research! Also, any recommendations of where to get these upgrades done in the Edinburgh area? Any info or advice appreciated! Steve.

i got the 2004 td5 with the fearn upgrade, worth every penny makes it drive like a car pulls in 5th and doesnt have to be geared down to climb the slightest incline just covered 35,000 miles with it, i had it fitted from nearly new and my average mpg is 28.2 with it usually in the fast lane 80+ and about 30% country roads etc..fully recomned
