Thanks to all those who replied to my post yesterday on petrol in diesel engines, especially those running 300TDI's. I put another three gallons of diesel in this morning and the engine seems to be running OK.
Land Rovers really are amazing machines, because when my half shaft splines gave up last week I was able to engage difflock, drive steadily from reading to Oxford Services down the back roads and wait in comfort for the RAC to take me back up the motorway. The look on the faces of passers by as I drove up to the back of the recovery truck was well worth seeing!
Why is it that these things always seem to happen when the weather is at its worst? I need to change a disc at the weekend and they've just forecast rain. On another tack why is it that I've just had the offer to go to Iceland for £56 from the same airline that wanted to charge me a small fortune in the Summer? Could it be because no one actually wants to go there when it's raining and permanently dark? Cheers, John
