Free Service in Houston for GS430????

Just "heard" that a fellow with a 2004 GS430 gets free service in Houston. Is this possible? The cheapest service cost I have in SC is

175 for the oil and required stuff that goes with it. The service will cost a minimum of $2,625 to 50,000 miles and $6,225 to 100,000 miles. If anyone keeps the car over 50,000 miles there is the several thousand, probably about $3500, cost for the extended warranty. And then there is the cost of the time spent waiting in the stealership, or extra cost for car rental during the services. So for the $2,625 discount, I would be willing to fly to Houston and buy one there and drive it back here - nice trip at the right time of the year anyway.

This thing is realy as bad as the Mercedes on required trips to the dealer. A Mercedes has to be fixed about every 10,000 miles, but you can get the services done then. And if you do service separate, Mercedes will at least drop you somewhere. This Lexus has to go in every 5000 miles for oil and what-not. And there is the trunk closer motor that broke at 6500 miles, but parts had to be ordered for it when I asked about it at the 10K inspection. So far, then, I am going to the dealer as often with this as with a Mercedes! And the services cost more!

On the positive side, I did finaly see a new LS460L on the road here today. But it was from Georgia, just passing through.

Yes, it's true! All you have to do is forward this email to ten other Lexus owners! Each Lexus owner adds their name to the bottom of the list, then forwards it to ten other Lexus owners. Soon, you'll not only have free service, but a free Dell laptop, free Windows Vista, free Crate & Barrel gift certificate, and who knows what else!

The book says that I have to do the specified services to keep my warranty. So that means that I have to get the oil changed every 5000 miles. It is just an admission by the Japanese that they are into milking as much money as they can from their stupid American customers. We are placing too much value on reliability, I think.

You don't have to have the required services done by a Lexus dealer.

My local Toyota dealer changes Lexi oil for $18.95, including the filter.
