Lexus ES300 Radio Problem

I have a 2002 ES300 with 12,000 miles.

I have had two recent incidents where one (FM) station cycles on and off in 2 to three second cycles, indefinitely.

I took the car back to the dealer. They seemed to be familiar with the problem and explained that it seemed to be some poorly understood interaction between the traffic notifcation feature and the station selection systems. A preset station will detune slightly, causing the problem. He instructed me to reset the station.

Does anybody know what the problem is and how to fix it properly?

I haven't encountered that with my 2002 ES300. Might be an issue with the stations in your area causing the radio to act that way.

Well, I thought this wasn't happening in my 2002 ES300, but it started doing the same as yours last week. I also noticed that it would jump back and forth from 90.1 to 92.9. I'll be taking it to the dealership to be replaced this week.

Bummer. Sorry to hear about it. Since the last trip to the dealer, ours has started to do it again. We'll be returning to get a new radio.

One of my big frustrations is I've had more trouble with this Lexus than a Chevrolet, three Toyata's and a Honda, combined.

Is this with the standard radio or the Levinson?

I also have a 2002 ES300, but have yet to experience this problem with my Levinson stereo

This is the standard radio, which I believe is a Pioneer product. I seriously doubt a Levinson product would have anything like this. (I'm a huge Levinson home audio fan)
