NAV update

I know that there is a new NAV DVD due this year, the question is, has it been released? If yes, does it allow the entry of the name of the town/city when entering addresses? The one we have now doesn't and it can be very frustrating sorting though long lists of matching streets.

Don't know what year is yours NAV, but I have 2004 Camry Nav, it's awesome. I love it, but only thing I don't like is that I can't enter the address info while driving, even a driver can't enter that info.

It can be a bit frustrating, had to stop few times just to update the info.

When entering your destination and it asks for the street number or street name select CITY first, enter the city name, then enter the street name and number.

There is an option to first input the city name. The option button is located away from the other boxes so it's easy to miss. Had to crack the manual open one time because I couldn't set the destination one time. The name of the street? First Street - imagine how long the list was.

Insert the DVD in a PC DVD drive and open the file called VERSION.TXT.

There is a way to find out what version you have from the main menu without having to take out the DVD. I believe it is on the top left corner and says "map" or something. when you push it, the map version comes up with the month and year. I have a '98 navigation system for a GS. (so it may not be the same for your car if you have something different.)

Also, does anyone have or know where I can get a good set of 245/40/18 tires?

List is $400 to $500 depending on which dealer you ask, but you can buy them for about $260 from the less opportunistic dealers. Sewell Lexus in Dallas has a website

you can order parts / accessories from, including NAV updates.

My dealer says that he gets a fairly detailed list of all the new items added every time there's an update. Does such a list exist online somewhere?
