I know that Lexus is NOT just a rebadged Toyota. My wife has an ES300 and she's looking to replace it.
What I'd like to know is which Toyota models transcend to the Lexus upgrade. For instance:
The Camry becomes the ES The Corolla becomes the IS Does anything become the GS or LS?
etc. etc. Am I correct? Can someone help me with this? Only interested in the cars, not SUV or truck. Thanks.
The Camry, Highlander, ES, and RX are based on the same platform.
The Corolla does not share the same platform as the IS. The Corolla is a front wheel drive vehicle and the IS is either rear wheel drive or all wheel drive.
The GS and LS do not share platforms with any models sold in the U.S.
The GX shares a platform with the 4Runner.
The LX shares a platform with the Land Cruiser.
