Well, first it's the 3 screws, two connectors and there are 3 clips. Those clips are almost impossible to get to. You just have to play with it and got one or two lose, and most likely you will break one or two, but it's really no problems at all. (When I got my cluster back, I put the two pieces in without any screws first just to make sure everything is working and I don't have to take them out again. Even without any of the screws and clips in the cluster housing and the cluster sit in there very snuggly).
After you take the outer housing out, there are 4 or 5 more screws to take out, and 3 connectors. Those connectors are the hardest part. It's very difficult to get to, and you just have to be very patient, try to push down that clip on the connector and pull the connector out. That is the most difficult part of the whole process. You centainly should not break any of the connectors. I cut open the black electrical tape at the end of the cables and that helped to lengthen and losen the connector cables a little bit.
I can email you a copy of a illustrated Lexus procedure for this. But I don't have your correct email addrsss (I tried to send this to you by private email but it bounced)
Good luck Joe
