Replacement Key for '93 ES300

I need to get a new key for my '93 ES300. The one I have is bent and the battery is dead. Where can I get one and how much should I expect to pay?

I would look into getting a new battery and seeing if you can get someone to unbend the key. I was quoted a price of about $550 from a dealer to replace the key on my '93 ES300. I picked up a CR1216 battery at Wal-Mart for about $4, and now it works perfectly.

Dealers have various methodology for pricing. However, M.S.R.P. for a single key is $236.00, give or take. A two key set, which would consist of two keys that would be cut to yours, and the chip to be installed into the receiver would be in the $335.00 range, M.S.R.P. Labor to program and finish should run no more than an hour at the rate in your area.

For the extra $100.00, it would be worth getting the two key set, in my opinion.

Is the battery replacement difficult? I am a non-mechanical woman!

You'll need to remove the screw, pry it open the bottom, then push the top half (the part you're prying) upward. It might take a few tries.... mine was a pain until I figured it out. :)

Give them your VIN (on your car's registration and title, and on the car itself), and order a NON-remote master key (no button) for 46 bucks plus shipping. I had a 1992 ES. I never used the button on the edge of the key. You don't need it either on a 12 year old car.

Some of us prefer the keyless option. :)
