Browsing through the Yellow Pages the other day looking for a garage to take my car for the test, I found a place that does MOTs 24 hours a day. I was amazed that such a place exists and booked myself in for a 9pm slot last night (passed!). Do any other towns have garages that stay open 24 hours a day, or is this one (in Sheffield) unique?

There used to be a main dealer who serviced cars overnight - can't remember who it was, but I think they did Mercedes.
I don't really relish the prospect of having my car serviced by a mechanic who could have been in the pub all evening prior to a 10 till 6 shift - still, they might even get it right for once, after a little internal lubrication :-)

Don't know any other but I think it's only sensible.
When most working people are occupied 9 to 5, if you want to aim for working customers, it is common sense to open outside these hours. I was amazed in New Zealand to find most city cetre shops there were closed Saturday afternoons.
