Air Con Questions

Car = Cavalier 2.0

System's been a bit noisy for a while, today went to run air con up, and no noise, no air con light, but a slight rev drop. It was checked/recharged in the summer by Vauxhalls who said it was all ok.

So - what do these symptoms mean ( compressor? )

Any reccomendations as to somewhere cheaper than Vauxhall's in Norfolk for the work

TIA

Ian

the pipe layout is crap look for a leak in the pipe that goes over the top of the rad this gets hot and brittle and slowly lets the gas out over time apparently (did it on my mates and the guy who done the fix said he'd seen several like that)

the switch also played up and that cost him a few quid to replace as well

In addition to the above, if you had a dip in revs that would probably mean your compressor is working ok.

When the compressor kicked in before you heard it - now the revs still drop, but the "clunk, whir" of the compressor coming in is absent
